ASICS re-signs as official USA Wrestling sponsor

USA Wrestling has re-signed ASICS as an official sponsor, announced USA Wrestling Executive Director Rich Bender. USA Wrestling is the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States.
ASICS enters its 25th year as a sponsor of USA Wrestling and has agreed to continue its National Team equipment sponsorship for four more years through the 2008 season in Beijing, China.
"USA Wrestling is proud to announce that our sponsorship relationship with ASICS will continue," said Rich Bender, Executive Director of USA Wrestling. "Our organization and the sport have grown and improved through this partnership with ASICS. We are excited about the future of wrestling, and look forward to working with ASICS in the pursuit of excellence."
"It has been an honor for ASICS to be affiliated with USA Wrestling whose teams have been very prominent in Olympic history as well as their support for the development of wrestling for tomorrow's youth and its loyal fans and supporters. We look forward to many more years of association with this great organization," said Gary Slayton, VP of Marketing at ASICS America.
As part of the sponsorship, USA Wrestling will supply to all national team members ASICS products. USA Wrestling will also provide additional cash support for certain No. 1 ranked national team members.
ASICS has been a major supporter of wrestling, from youth programs through the senior level. ASICS remains the title sponsor of the ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Championships, the largest youth wrestling tournament in the world. In addition, ASICS will be the title sponsor for numerous other USA Wrestling national events, including the U.S. Nationals, the Cadet Nationals, the Kids Folkstyle Nationals, the Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals, and the Ultimate Challenge Series.
ASICS will also sponsor two national television broadcasts of major USA Wrestling events each year of the contract.
