U.S. women wrestlers Downing, Smith, and Greco-Roman wrestler Durlacher weigh in and receive draws at the World Championships



Three U.S. wrestlers weighed in and received their draws on Thursday for the World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Two women wrestlers weighed in to complete the tournament.

At 67 kg/147.5 lbs., Katie Downing (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) will open by competing against Manuela Barzu of Romania.

At 72 kg/158.5 lbs., Iris Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) will wrestle Stanka Zlateva of Bulgaria in the first round.

In Greco-Roman, the first weight class will be 55 kg/121 lbs. where Lindsey Durlacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) will compete against Roberto Pira of Italy. If he wins that match, he could draw 2004 Olympic champion Istvan Majoros of Hungary.

Smith is competing in her second World Championships, while Downing and Durlacher are competing in their first World meet.

All three weight divisions will begin and be completed on Friday, Sept. 30
