Ernie Aguilar (Santa Ana, Calif.) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for the week of September 28-October 4. Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday. Aguilar was named the lower weights Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Golden West Tournament in Huntington Beach, Calif. Aguilar posted a 4-0 record while winning the 141-pound division. He recorded two falls in the tournament.
