O'Hara named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week



Mike O'Hara (Redlands, Calif./Santa Ana College) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for the week of Ocotber 25-31.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

O'Hara, a redshirt freshman at Santa Ana College in California, improved to 21-0 with two big victories during the week in California Community College competition.

On Oct. 26, O'Hara won his match at 149 lbs. helping to lead his squad to a team win on the road against Victor Valley College.

On Oct. 29, O'Hara defeated Sinai Pazzat of Fresno City College at the California Community College Wrestling North-South All Star Dual Meet held on the campus of Fresno State Univ.

O'Hara is currently ranked No. 1 in the latest California Community College poll at 149 lbs.
