Beast of the East Tournament to feature top high school wrestlers and teams in Newark, Del., Dec. 16-17



NEWARK, DE: The 14th Annual "TGIFriday's Beast of the East" will be held December 16th & 17th, 2006 at the University of Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center.

The Beast of the East introduces TGIFriday's as the new title sponsor!

The 2006 TGIFriday's Beast returns five champions to defend their titles, Kellen Russell, Zack Kemmerer, Eric Medina, Jamelle Jones, and Cody Gardner.

Six time consensus #1 high school wrestling team in the country, Blair Academy is seeking a 7th straight team title.

Statistics include eight USA Wrestling Fargo National Champions, 19 states represented, seven top-ranked seniors, three top-ranked juniors and over 150 nationally ranked wrestlers.

All proceeds benefit scholarships to our Delaware wrestlers who meet criteria in the fields of academics, sportsmanship, and community service. We have awarded over $306,000 from the proceeds of the previous 13 tournaments.
