Joey Knox named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Nov. 6-12

Joey Knox (Dublin, Ga./University of Tennessee-Chattanooga) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Nov. 6-12.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

Knox knocked off third-ranked Lance Palmer 6-3 at 149 pounds to key Tennessee-Chattanooga's 19-16 win over No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday. Knox is 2-0 this season.

Knox, a sophomore, is in his first year as a starter for the Mocs. He was a two-time Georgia state champion and four-time state placewinner.

He was a two-time Junior Nationals All-American.
