Michael Johnson Jr. (Downers Grove, Ill./Overtime WC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for March 31-April 6.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Johnson won USA Wrestling’s Ultimate Dominator award for the second time in his career by scoring a maximum total of 13,600 points.

He won seven individual USA Wrestling Ultimate Challenge Series events, capped by the 210-pound Schoolboy title he won this past weekend at the ASICS Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He won the title with two falls and a decision.

Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound sixth-grader, has excelled in numerous USA Wrestling events.
