Taylor Massa named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 21-27

Taylor Massa (St. Johns, Mich./Team Michigan) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 21-27.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Massa became the first wrestler in USA Wrestling history to win two Triple Crowns in the Cadet division. Massa completed the hat trick by winning Cadet Nationals titles in Greco-Roman and freestyle last week in Fargo, N.D.

Massa won the Cadet Greco-Roman title on July 20 and added the Cadet freestyle title on July 24. He competed at 152 pounds.

Massa won a Cadet Folkstyle Nationals title in April.

Massa won his first Cadet Triple Crown in 2008.
