Tyler Coates named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 13-19

Tyler Coates (Thorp, Wash./Team Washington) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 13-19.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Coates was named Outstanding Wrestler after winning the Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman title at 160 pounds on Monday afternoon in Fargo, N.D.

Coates pinned every opponent he faced in the first period. He capped his run with a first-period fall over Justin Valencia of Illinois in the finals.
