Rutgers Wrestling Announces 2001-2002 Schedule



PISCATAWAY, NJ (May 30, 2001) - Home matches with nationally-ranked Oklahoma, as well as perennial powers Lehigh and Bloomsburg, highlight the 2001-2002 Rutgers University wrestling schedule, which was released today. The Scarlet Knights will have 11 home contests among its 14 dual matches this coming season. Consistent with the past two years, Rutgers will open its season on Saturday, November 10 at the Oklahoma/Brockport Gold Tournament in Brockport, NY and then travel to Annapolis, MD on Saturday, November 17. On Saturday, December 1, Rutgers will return to New Jersey for its home opener, a dual match vs. Oklahoma, which was ranked as high as fifth nationally in 2000-2001. After a trip to the Sheridan Duals in Bethlehem, PA, featuring Lehigh, on December 8, the Scarlet Knights will return to action on December 28 and 29, with trips to the Wilkes Open in Wilkes Barre, PA and the Midlands Championships in Evanston, IL. RU's home dual meet schedule also features matches with East Stroudsburg (January 9), Navy (January 12) and Boston College and American (January 19).
