Eleven wrestlers won the prestigious USA Wrestling Kids Triple Crown.

To win, an athlete must win USA Wrestling national titles in folkstyle, Greco-Roman and freestyle titles in the same year. The 2000 USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Championships were held in Topeka, Kan. in April.

The 2000 Triple Crown winners include Midget wrestlers David Taylor of Evanston, Wyoming (60), Riley Adamson of Albuquerque, New Mexico (65), Ryan Konrath of Elkhart, Indiana (87) and Atticus Disney of Andover, Kansas (120).

Two wrestlers won the Triple Crown in 1997, eight in 1998, ten in 1999 and 11 in 2000. Two wrestlers have now won the Triple Crown more than once. Jon Dahl of Minnesota, a 1997 and 1999 winner became the first to win the Triple Crown twice. Adamson has now become the second double Triple Crown champion with wins in 1999 and 2000.

Twenty-five wrestlers were double champions, winning both the freestyle and Greco-Roman titles this year. Double champions in the Midget division are Taylor, Adamson, Konrath and Disney and Travis Rutt of Belle Plaine, Minnesota (70), Dustin Martin of Liberty, Utah (80), Ryan Konrath of Elkhart, Indiana (87), Andrew Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska (95) and D'Andre Jimerson of Omaha, Nebraska (103).

A record 511 athletes entered the Greco-Roman competition this year. Freestyle had 638 entries for a record total of 1,149 wrestlers. This is 19 more than 1999. The wrestlers came from 34 different states.
