Moore named the Outstanding Wrestler at the 2000 University Freestyle Championships at Evanston, Ill., April 9

Teague Moore (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sunkist Kids) was named the outstanding wrestler at the 2000 University Freestyle Championships at Evanston, Ill., April 9.

Moore defeated Stephen Abas (Fresno, Calif./Sunkist Kids) in a close 3-1 overtime win to claim the title at 119 pounds. In 1999, Moore placed second at 127.75 pounds.

All new champions were crowned in 2000. Joe Heskett (Ames, Iowa/Cyclone WC) defeated Jake Clark (Woodbridge, Va./U.S. Marine Corps), 6-5, in the finals at 167.5 pounds. Heskett placed third in 1999 at 167.5 pounds.

Other champions include: Ernesto Howard (Chicago, Ill./Illinois WC) at 110 pounds, Ryan Lewis (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) at 127.75 pounds, Dustin DeNunzio (Cambridge, Ma./Dave Schultz WC) at 138.75 pounds, Jared Frayer (Norman, Okla./Underdogs WC) at 152 pounds, Damion Hahn (Minneapolis, Minn./NYAC) at 187.25 pounds, Mark Knauer (Ames, Iowa/Cyclone WC) at 213.75 pounds and Joshua Etu (Charlottesville, Va./Virginia) at 286 pounds.
