Dustin Kilgore named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 29-June 4

Dustin Kilgore (Berea, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 29-June 4.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Kilgore captured a University Nationals freestyle title at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. on Sunday in Akron, Ohio.

Kilgore, who trains at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, downed Pitt All-American Matt Wilps 2-0, 6-1 in the finals.

Kilgore, who took an Olympic redshirt this past season, was a 2011 NCAA champion for Kent State. He will return to Kent State for his final year of collegiate competition during the 2012-13 school year.

Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Craig Sesker at csesker@usawrestling.org
