Dan Gable to attend autograph signing at Dan Gable Museum

WATERLOO, Iowa — The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum will host a special autograph signing with Dan Gable on Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The signing will take place during USA Wrestling's Preseason Nationals held at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. This is one of USA Wrestling's major events of the folkstyle season, taking place November 3-4.

Gable will provide a wrestling education seminar in the Dan Gable Teaching Center from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by an autograph signing from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The autograph signing comes just over a week after Iowa Governor Terry Branstad declared Dan Gable Day statewide.

Gable was born on October 25, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa. Dan Gable Day was declared on October 25, 2012.

Gable is arguably the greatest athlete and coach ever. In 1972 he won a gold medal at the Munich Olympics without surrendering a point. As the head coach at the University of Iowa he led the Hawkeyes to 15 NCAA team titles in 21 years, compiling a 355-21-5 dual meet record.

That National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum is located at 303 Jefferson St. in Waterloo. All are welcome to attend this special autograph signing.
The museum will also offer extended hours of operation. The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 2; from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 3; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 4.
