U.S. journalist Eddie Goldman named new FILA Media Coordinator

In order to improve its relations with the media and better advertise on all sports placed under its authority, FILA decided to start working with the famous New Yorker journalist Eddie Goldman who is known as the most sought-after and well-rounded journalist in the combat sports. In his capacity as Media Coordinator, Eddie Goldman will be responsible for establishing a network of correspondents and collecting all relevant news on Olympic and non-Olympic wrestling styles, both on the national and international levels. FILA is developing a new interface to its website that will give better exposure to all wrestling news coming from the various countries. It is therefore requested from all National Federations to send their articles (in English or French) to eddiegoldman@fila-wrestling.com so they can be posted on the FILA website.

Eddie wrestled in high school, graduated from Columbia University with a history major and philosophy minor, and did graduate work in magazine publishing at New York University. He is the host and producer of the "No Holds Barred" podcast (http://nhbnews.podomatic.com/) and produces the "No Holds Barred" blog (http://nhbnews.blogspot.com/). He is also a co-founder of the Coalition to Legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York (http://nymmanow.blogspot.com/). Eddie has been an editor and writer for ADCC News, TapouT Magazine, MMA Worldwide, BoxingRanks.com, MaxBoxing.com, TheSweetScience.com, Penthouse, the Extreme Fighting web site, Grappling, Fight Magazine, Gracie Magazine, Wrestling International Newsmagazine, Inside Kung Fu, Full Contact Fighter, Vale Tudo News, Tapout.com, and numerous other publications and web sites. Eddie was narrator in the film "The Smashing Machine" on the famous wrestler and mixed martial artist, Mark Kerr.

He was voted 2000 Journalist of the Year by the readers of Grapplersworld.com. He was vice-president of the National Wrestling Media Association, 2003-2005. Grappling Magazine was voted 2002 Wrestling Publication of the Year by the National Wrestling Media Association of the USA. He won third place for Boxing Event Coverage in Boxing Writers Association of America's 2003 Barney Awards for excellence in boxing journalism. In 2008, Eddie was presented by Gladiator Magazine with its first-ever Lifetime Journalism Achievement Award, and named the "Conscience of the Combat Sports".
