Oklahoma State moves to No. 1 in most recent USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll

Manheim, PA - Movement was expected after this past week of wrestling action which saw then-No. 3 Iowa beat top-ranked Penn State 22-16 in front of a sellout crowd of 15,077 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Friday.

With Penn State's loss, Oklahoma State (13-0) moves up to No. 1 in Tuesday's USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll. The Cowboys received all ten first-place votes, while Iowa moved up to No. 2 and Penn State fell two places to No. 3.

The loss was Penn State's first of the year and with Oklahoma State's ascent to the top spot, three different teams have held the No. 1 ranking this year.

Ohio State remained fifth after a win over then-No. 6 Illinois. The Fighting Illini dropped two spots after losses to Ohio State and Penn State. Penn State shut out Illinois 37-0 on Sunday.

Missouri moved up to No. 6, while Virginia Tech moved up to No. 7.

There were no new teams in the Top 25 this week, although there was some movement in the middle. Purdue's victory over Michigan jumped the Boilermakers up to No. 17.
