Registration opens on August 1 for popular USA Wrestling Cliff Keen Preseason Nationals held in Cedar Falls, Iowa

The 6th annual USA Wrestling Cliff Keen Preseason Nationals will be held on November 2-3 in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the University of Northern Iowa's UNI Dome. This has become one of the most popular and competitive early season events in the nation.

Registration will open up on this Thursday, August 1 at 5:00pm EST and will close on October 27 at midnight EST. There is a $48.00 registration fee to be paid online when registering.

For more information on the Preseason Nationals and to register, you can visit the tournament web site at

Last year 2,594 wrestlers competed from 38 different states. This year, registration is expected to sell out so early registration is encouraged.

Only the first 1500 High School Boys, first 1,500 eighth grade and below and first 200 High School Girls to register will be accepted into the tournament.

This year the high school tournament is divided into Freshman / Sophomore and Junior / Senior Divisions. If you are a freshman or sophomore you may wrestle in the Junior / Senior division but CANNOT wrestle in both.

The high school boys tournament will be wrestled on November 2 while the 8th grade and below and high school girls tournaments will both be held on November 3rd.

Wrestlers from Missouri and Indiana were not able to participate in the 2012 Preseason Nationals but this year both states will be able to participate because the first day of official practices for both states is one day after Preseason Nationals.
