Chattanooga's Josh Hooker named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week



CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- Chattanooga wrestler Josh Hooker was named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance at the Michigan State Open and at Cumberland College last week. A native of Locust Grove, Okla., the freshman won his collegiate debut with a 15-9 decision over Cumberland's Wyatt Wilkie. Hooker won three matches at the Michigan State Open. He notched two victories in the first and second rounds, defeating R. Thompson of Eastern Michigan and C. Rodriguez of Michigan. He also posted a win over C. Potashick from Northwestern in the consolation round. The Mocs compete at The Citadel Duals Saturday and face Chattanooga, The Citadel, Gardner-Webb and Kent.
