TUNIS, Tunisia – Tamyra Mensah Stock had a perfect morning at the Zouhaier Sghaier, UWW’s fourth ranking series event of the year, teching all three opponents 10-0 on her way to gold.
Helen Maroulis skated to the semifinal match with three dominant wins. She controlled the semifinal match 7-2 before getting caught and pinned by Elvira Kamalogu of Turkey with 36 seconds left in the match. Maroulis will now wrestle for bronze against Mansi Mansi of India, the 2022 Asian Champion.
In a Final X rematch, Dymond Guilford and Yelena Makoyed met in round one. Makoyed recovered from a 7-0 deficit late in the match, but it wasn’t enough to take the lead. The match ended 7-6, Guilford. The series will continue as Makoyed and Guilford will now meet in the finals.
