Maccabi USA wrestling is seeking talented Jewish athletes, coaches and other staff members to participate in the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will be held in Israel in July 2017.
Maccabi USA is a nonprofit organization designed to provide Jewish athletes the opportunity to share their heritage in competitive athletic settings all over the world. In 2013, the organization took more than 1,000 American athletes to the 19th World Games.
In the past, many top U.S. wrestlers have competed in the Maccabiah Games, including Olympic champion Henry Wittenberg, World bronze medalist Lindsey Durlacher and many more.

Dear Wrestlers:
The 20th World Maccabiah Games is quickly approaching! In July 2017, 1,200+ USA Jewish athletes, coaches, and staff will converge in Israel to join 80 countries and 9,000 Jewish athletes. Maccabi USA is the sponsor of the US Team going to the World Maccabiah Games which are held every four years in Israel. These Games are Olympic-style competitions for Jewish athletes from around the world.
My role is that of the Head Coach and I am joined by David and Stewart Pruzansky, the Chairmen of the Wrestling Committee, for Team USA Open Wrestling. Together we have competed in the Games multiple times winning many Gold and Silver Medals. It is our goal to put together the best Maccabiah program ever to compete in Israel next summer! There is something magical; a certain feeling that touches the heart and soul of everyone who participates, and it is not a feeling that abruptly fades away at the conclusion of the competition. This experience changes lives. It has ours. We are very excited to be a part of Team USA.
Can you imagine the great feeling of proudly wearing a USA Team uniform at Opening and Closing Ceremonies, along with the competition, camaraderie with athletes from around the world? And, making lifelong friends? Wouldn’t you want this feeling for yourself?
We would like to have our most talented Jewish athletes and staff members attend these Games.
We want to identify those wrestlers that have a burning desire to be part of Team USA. And, although the trials will not be until next Spring, it is important that we know who you are.
The weight classes are in Kilograms: 50, 55, 60, 66, 74, 84, 96 and 120.
