Jordan Burroughs and Kyle Dake had one of the most exciting U.S. rivalries in recent history when both wrestlers competed at 74 kg in men’s freestyle.

Below is the 2017 World Team Trials finals series that was forced to three matches in Lincoln, Neb. That year, Burroughs went on to make his fifth World Team and eventually claimed his fourth World title.

Last year, both Dake and Burroughs made the 2018 U.S. World Team as weight classes increased from 8 to 10 for the World Championships. The 2018 team featured Burroughs at 74 kg and Dake at the new 79 kg class. Burroughs finished with bronze, and Dake won gold to help the USA to a second-place team finish.

Enjoy the flashback!
