Lock Haven, led by six champions, wins EWL Championships, with Rider in second place

FAIRFAX, Va. – Lock Haven, led by six individual champions, won the team title at the Eastern Wrestling League Championships.


Individual champions for Lock Haven were DJ Fehlman (133), Kyle Shoop (141), Alex Klucker (157), Chance Marsteller (165), Corey Hazell (184) and Thomas Haines (285).


Lock Haven won the team race with 111.5 points, with Rider in second with 93.5 points and George Mason in third with 56.5 points.


Other individual champions were Willy Girard of Bloomsburg (125), Tejon Anthony of George Mason (149), Dean Sherry of Rider (174) and Ethan Laird of Rider (197).


This will be the final EWL Championships, as the seven teams in this league have agreed to join the Mid American Conference as affiliate members next year. The EWL had 14 automatic qualifiers for this year’s NCAA Championships in Pittsburgh.
