Harper Formanek named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare

Harper Formanek (Golden, Colo./ Black Fox Wrestling Academy) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on December 11, 2024.

Formanek was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the 12U Girls division at the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Tour of America – King and Queen of the Mountain on Saturday. In the 80-85-pound weight class, Formanek went 4-0 in a round-robin bracket with three falls and one technical fall.

Formanek spent a total of 5 minutes and 58 seconds on the mat, with her fastest fall coming at 1:27. She improves on her third-place finish at last year’s King and Queen of the Mountain in the 12U Girls 81-pound bracket. Formanek is also a 2024 Colorado USA Wrestling state champion in Greco-Roman (3rd - 5th Girls, 73-83 pounds), and was the runner-up at the 2023 Kid’s Folkstyle Nationals in the 10U Girls division at 70 pounds.
