Women’s College Opens over weekend: Warrior Open, Cerritos Open, JMU Open

Each week as appropriate, USA Wrestling will post the results from women’s college open tournaments from the weekend.

This week, there were three more Opens this past weekend, as the U.S. college programs prepare for their post season: the Warrior Open at Midland University in Nebraska, the Cerritos Open at Cerritos College in California and the JMU Open at John Carroll University in Ohio.

Warrior Open at Midland

Saturday, Feb. 10

Summary: Four different colleges had two individual champions in the Warrior Open, which included teams from the NAIA, NCAA, NJCAA. Champions for NJCAA No. 5 Iowa Western CC were Mia Siqueiros (101) and Ferny Hernandez (155). Winners from NAIA No. 14 Missouri Valley College were Hailey Holland (109) and Aniseta Acosta (109). NAIA No. 3 Grand View had two champions, Mayangelie Colon (116) and Olivia Brown (116). Competing unattached for NCAA Fort Hays State, Ashlynn Goodwin (143) and Marissa Porsch (170). NAIA No. 19 Midland had both finalists at 123, who chose not to compete against each other, Taylor Hood and Emily Paulino. Other individual champions were Janiah Jones (130) of NAIA No. 10 Missouri Baptist and Kiara Boldridge (235) of NJCAA No. 7 Southeast CC.
