The U.S. women’s freestyle team concluded the 2024 Pan-American Championships in Acapulco, Mexico, Friday by claiming the team trophy. All ten athletes earned medals, an impressive feat that showcased competitive wrestling. Four athletes finished atop the podium on the second day of action, which saw the U.S. secure one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

Macey Kilty stood atop the podium at the end of the night, earning Pan-American gold. Her exceptional performance included two consecutive 11-0 victories against opponents from Canada and Mexico.

At 59 kg, Michaela Beck earned silver after going 2-1 on the day. Beck started her tournament by defeating Jessica Derrell of Barbados. In second round, Beck dropped a tough match to Laurence Beauregard of Canada. Beck's hard-earned 5-0 victory over Ana Pereira Franca of Brazil secured her medal in Acapulco.

Katie Gomez, competing at 53 kg, claimed the bronze medal with a strong performance. Gomez opened the tournament with a commanding 10-0 win over Nathaly Herrera Huacre of Peru, but faced a setback in the second round, falling to Lucia Yepez Guzman of Ecuador. Gomez bounced back with another dominant 10-0 victory against Laura Herin Avila of Cuba, securing her place on the podium.

Adeline Gray showed her resilience at 76 kg, earning a bronze medal. Despite a tough loss to Genesis Reasco Valdez of Ecuador, Gray won her repechage match to advance to a bronze medal match. Gray bested Meiriele Charamba Santos Hora of Brazil, 10-0, in repechage. In the bronze medal match, Gray faced Shauna Kuebeck of Canada, but Kuebeck had to withdraw due to an injury.
