Minnesota Blue, Pennsylvania Blue, Iowa, Michigan Blue win pools on day one of 14U Greco-Roman National Duals

14U Greco-Roman National Duals brackets
OAKS, Pa.—The first day of the 14U Greco-Roman National Duals has concluded at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks. Eight teams advanced to the Gold/Silver pool, as all preliminary pool rounds, and one color pool round, were completed.
The Pool A champion was Minnesota Blue, as they defeated Oklahoma Blue, Texas Gold and Wisconsin in session one action. Minnesota Blue opened with a 56-26 victory over Oklahoma Blue, winning 13 of the 18 bouts, including nine-straight wins to take a 38-3 lead just ten matches in. In the semifinals, Minnesota Blue dominated Texas Gold, claiming a 63-17 win to advance. They bested Wisconsin in the Pool A finals, securing a 49-34 victory to move into the Gold/Silver Pool.
In Pool B, defending champions Pennsylvania Blue navigated to a top finish after defeating Virginia, Illinois and Florida in the morning session. In the opening round, Pennsylvania Blue controlled the dual against Virginia, capturing a strong 66-12 win. Their momentum continued with a 56-24 win over Illinois, the No. 10 seed. In the Pool B finals, Pennsylvania Blue advanced to the Gold/Silver pool, taking down Florida, who defeated No. 2 seed Washington in the opening round.
Iowa was the victor in Pool C, using wins over Minnesota Red, Oklahoma Red and Ohio Red. Iowa dominated Minnesota Red with a 60-18 victory, winning 15 of 18 weight classes. Iowa maintained their momentum, edging out Oklahoma Red 45-35. The final dual was close, with Iowa narrowly defeating Ohio Red 42-41, as the last bout of the dual at 77 pounds was a forfeit for Iowa, granting five team points for Ohio Red. A 9-0 technical fall by Levi Charles (Iowa) over Cameron Smith (Ohio Red) sealed the dual victory.
The Pool D champion was Michigan Blue, who defeated North Carolina, New Jersey and Indiana en route to the Gold/Silver pool. Michigan Blue shut out North Carolina 78-0, with seven matches forfeited and all others won by fall or technical fall. The semifinals against New Jersey were more challenging, but Michigan Blue secured a 42-35 win. In the Pool D finals, Michigan Blue defeated Indiana 50-33, with eight technical falls and three falls.
True second duals were wrestled, as the top two teams advanced to the Gold/Silver pool. Wisconsin won the Pool A true second dual over California, Illinois defeated Florida in the Pool B true second dual, Ohio Red won against Oklahoma Red in Pool C, and Utah edged out Indiana in Pool D.
Following the first round of action of the Gold/Silver pool, it was Minnesota Blue that secured an initial 48-36 win over Illinois. Ohio Red brought down Michigan Blue 42-40, Pennsylvania claimed a 47-29 win over Wisconsin, and Iowa shut down Utah 61-18.
There has been a slight change to the schedule, as the original schedule had the start of color pools on day two. The competition continued through the first round of the color pools on day one, so action resumes with rounds two and three of the color pools on Thursday morning.
