Each week as appropriate, USA Wrestling will post the results from women’s college open tournaments from the weekend. There were six more tournaments held all across the nation last week.
The college tournaments this week were the Jimmy May Open in Kansas and the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) in Arkansas.
Jimmy May Open at Baker
Saturday, Feb. 15
Notes: NAIA No. 3 William Penn had a strong performance at the Jimmy May Open, with one individual champion Christianah Ogunsanya (117) and three weight classes where both finalists were from William Penn and the teammates chose not to compete against each other. The weight classes with two William Penn finalists were 103 (Olivia Atkins and Lillian Zapata), 124 (Catherine Steinkamp and Joanna Vanderwood) and 138 (Kendall Bostelman and Esther Kolawole). NAIA No. 15 Ottawa was the only team with two champions, Aynsley Fink (110) and Hannah Jackson (207). Other individual champions were Xochitl Mota-Pettis of NAIA No. 8 Missouri Valley (131), Sofia Delgado of NAIA No. 2 Grand View (145), Josette Partney of NAIA Missouri Baptist (160) and Ashley Lekas of NAIA No. 13 Texas Wesleyan (180).

Friday, Feb. 14
Notes: The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), which features NCAA Div. III colleges, held a women’s wrestling competition, with four teams involved. NCAA No. 22 Schreiner won the tournament with eight individual champions and 122 points, followed by Eureka with 58.5 points, Lyon with 40.5 points and Fontbonne with 13.5 points. Schreiner champions were Odelia Lopez (103), Prestejah Yockeman (110), Jaia Ashley (117), Lexy Basurto (124), Jania Dunigan (131), Azana King (145), Scarlett Snodgrass (160) and Symphanie Sampson (180). The other individual champions were Jas Gordon of Fontbonne (138) and Tayla Phillips of Eureka (207).
