Week 13 of the college wrestling season is underway! This is a big weekend for DI men’s dual action with two top five matchups, and so much more. Here are a few events to check out during week 13.
No. 3 Oklahoma State at No. 5 Northern Iowa
Date: January 24

No. 5 Northern Iowa’s undefeated Panthers host No. 3 Oklahoma State in Cedar Falls on Friday night. The dual features a highly anticipated matchup at 184 pounds between No. 2 Parker Keckeisen and No. 3 Dustin Plott, a rematch of last year’s NCAA final at the weight. The Panthers, having already claimed ranked victories over South Dakota State, Nebraska, and Missouri, most recently dominated Arizona State 33-10. No. 4 Cael Happel (141) and No. 4 Ryder Downey (157) join Keckeisen in the top ten for UNI. Oklahoma State, also undefeated this season with an overall record of 9-0 and 6-0 in conference action, has seven top ten ranked wrestlers in the lineup in No. 4 Troy Spratley (125), No. 4 Tagen Jamison (141), No. 6 Cameron Amine (165), No. 3 Dean Hamiti (174), No. 3 Plott (184), No. 7 Luke Surber (197), and No. 3 Wyatt Hendrickson (heavyweight).
No. 15 Pittsburgh at No. 6 NC State

NC State, fresh off a 32-4 victory over Virginia, will face 15th-ranked Pittsburgh at home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday night. NC State holds a record of 8-1 overall and is 2-0 in conference action, while the Panthers are 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the ACC. The Wolfpack leads the all-time series 9-2 and has won the last five meetings with the Panthers. The dual could showcase seven ranked matches at 125, 149, 157, 174, 184, 197, and 285. The Wolfpack is led by two in the top five: No. 3 Vincent Robinson (125) and No. 4 Isaac Trumble (285).
No. 4 Ohio State at No. 2 Iowa
Date: January 25

Location: Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City, Iowa
Where to Watch: Big Ten Network
No. 4 Ohio State (11-0, 3-0) will take on No. 2 Iowa (8-0, 2-0) in a top five dual on Saturday. The Buckeyes are coming off a 24-10 victory over No. 25 Purdue. The Hawkeyes, ranked second in the latest NWCA Coaches Poll, most recently defeated No. 9 Illinois, 28-6. There are a myriad of potential ranked matchups between the two teams, as Ohio State is led by No. 1 Jesse Mendez at 141 pounds while Iowa is led by top ranked Jacori Teemer at 157 pounds and Stephen Buchanan at 197 pounds. On Saturday, the Warrior Open, hosted by Indiana Tech, will kick off at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and features 15 competitive teams, including Adrian, Alma, Baldwin Wallace, Hiram, Huntingdon, John Carroll, Manchester, Mount Union, No. 2 North Central, Otterbein, Southern Virginia, No. 14 Tiffin, Trine, and West Liberty.
Great Midwest Wrestling Championships
Date: January 25-26
Time: 10 a.m. CT
Location: Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center, Findlay, Ohio
Where to Watch: Great Midwest Digital Network
On Saturday and Sunday, seven teams travel to Findlay, Ohio, for the Great Midwest Wrestling Championship. This is the sixth edition of the event, since it began in the 2018-19 season. All matches will be streamed live on the Great Midwest Digital Network. The following teams will compete: Findlay, Ashland, Davenport, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lake Erie, Thomas More, and Tiffin. Ashland leads the league with three titles.
