Winning a state high school title is an amazing achievement, one of the most prestigious titles in our sport. Every year, high school boys and girls train hard and sacrifice with the goal of winning their state high school championships. USA Wrestling congratulates all state champions for their success.
With that in mind, USA Wrestling invites all present or past state champions to compete at its respected National High School Recruiting Showcase this year. This special event, created last year, is a great opportunity for state champions to test themselves at the highest level and show their abilities to college coaches and recruiters.
The only people in this event are other state high school champions (scholastic style), NHSCA Nationals All-Americans (new this year) or wrestlers who have to qualify through one of five Regional Qualifiers. In its first year in 2021, there were over 230 state champions competing, plus numerous regional qualifiers, a deep field in each weight class.
The National High School Recruiting Showcase is intentionally in the style contested in college, which for boys is folkstyle (collegiate) and for girls is freestyle.
The Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase will be held in Cedar Falls, Iowa, April 1-2, alongside the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals. This is an elite division at the event, in which only qualified athletes can enter. (Those who do not qualify will compete in a High School Open division).
