Registration open for Bill Farrell Memorial International, which returns to New York City, November 18-19

USA Wrestling announced that the Bill Farrell Memorial International is returning to New York City, at the historic New York Athletic Club, Nov 18-19. Hosts of the Bill Farrell Memorial anticipate a high level of competition as it welcomes international competitors for the first time since 2019.


For more than 60 years, the New York Athletic Club has hosted the annual NYAC Holiday International Wrestling Championships, now called the Bill Farrell Memorial International Open in honor of the late Bill Farrell, the former NYAC Wrestling Chairman and 1972 U.S. Olympic freestyle coach.

Registration is now open.


The deadline to register without penalty is Nov 15. No refunds will be available for failure to compete.


Competition includes Senior Women’s Freestyle, Senior Men’s Freestyle, and Senior Greco-Roman. The Greco-Roman and women’s competition will be held on Friday, November 18, while the men’s freestyle competition is Saturday, November 19.

Registration is $75 per style. Late registration after Nov 15 is $85 per style and walk-up registration fees are $100 per style. All registration, including late registration, must be done online.

10 a.m. – Preliminary rounds through semifinals (Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle)

4 p.m. – Consolation rounds, 3rd place matches, and Finals

Saturday, November 19

10 a.m. – Preliminary rounds through semifinals (Men’s freestyle)

4 p.m. – Consolation rounds, 3rd place matches, and Finals

Per UWW regulations, all competitors are required to have UWW license. Wrestlers must purchase their UWW license in 2022 prior to the Bill Farrell Memorial International, please bring your personal UWW card or provide the list of athletes of your country at registration. UWW Licenses CANNOT be sold on-site. USA athletes must have a current USA Wrestling Membership for the 2022-23 season.
