This is the current list of athletes who have already qualified for the 2023 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, as of April 12, 2023.
The Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament is set for May 20-21 at Discovery Canyon High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.
With the changes in the qualifying procedures for Final X, the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament will not include all of the 30 weight classes. In weight classes where a 2022 Senior World medalist accepts their Final X position, they will wrestle against the 2023 U.S. Open champion at their weight class in Final X. Those weights will not be included at the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament.
In the weight classes where the USA did not win a 2022 Senior World medal, as well as in any weight class(es) that a 2022 Senior World medalist declines their Final X position, the weight class will be contested at the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament. In these weight classes, the 2023 U.S. Open champion will wrestle the winner of the 2023 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Final X.
Currently, we list the qualifiers at the 15 weight classes where the USA did not win a 2022 Senior World medal. This includes 10 Greco-Roman weight classes, three women’s freestyle weight classes and two men’s freestyle weight classes. The deadline for a 2022 Senior World medalist to declare for Final X is April 21. If there are any weights were a 2022 World medalist declines their Final X berth, that weight class will be contested at the Senior World Team Trials and this qualifier list will be updated at those weight classes.
Currently, there are 82 athletes who have qualified to compete at the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament.
