This year is coming to an end, but the season continues. This weekend, many teams began conference dual action, tournaments continued, and there was no shortage of upsets. Check out a few notable things that happened in college wrestling during week seven.

Performance of the week

Amani Jones was one of two champions from North Central at the North Central College Invitational this past weekend. Jones, a two-time age-group World Medalist and ranked No. 1 at 124 pounds, defeated USOPTC resident athlete and past U.S. Open champion Tiare Ikea, 8-4, in the finals.

Upset of the week

California Baptist picked up its first ranked win of the season and just second of the DI era with a 18-15 victory over No. 18 West Virginia. This marked the second time that the Lancers have defeated a ranked opponent since joining the BIG 12 as an affiliate member in 2022. California Baptist won five of the matches in the dual, highlighted by No. 33 Elijah Griffin’s 5-0 decision against No. 10 Jordan Titus of WVU.

Move of the week

In Iowa State’s dual against North Dakota State, Cody Chittum made his season dual debut against NDSU's Gabriel Schumm at 157 pounds. While trailing in the third period, Chittum tied the match 6-6 late before pinning Schumm with a gator roll at 5:51.

Dual of the week

The No. 3 Oklahoma State Cowboys were dominant from start to finish as they defeated No. 21 Oklahoma, 35-3, Friday night at McCasland Field House for its 20th-straight Bedlam dual win. The win pushed Oklahoma State to a 5-0 record and delivered Oklahoma its first loss of the season at 3-1.
