14U National Duals slated for June 12-15 in Oaks, Pennsylvania

USA Wrestling has entered its annual National Dual Meet Championships season, where USA Wrestling state association age-group teams loaded with talented athletes compete for national dual meet titles in the Olympic styles of wrestling, Greco-Roman and freestyle.
This week, the 14U National Duals for boys will be held in Oaks, Pennsylvania, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, June 12-15. The event begins with Greco-Roman action on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by freestyle action on Friday and Saturday.
In Greco-Roman competition, the 14U National champions was Pennsylvania Blue after defeating Ohio 50-27. Wisconsin took third place, bringing down Illinois, 42-35. Iowa claimed fifth place with a 43-38 victory over Oklahoma Blue. It was New Jersey taking seventh, scoring a 47-33 over Washington. Last year’s freestyle champion was Pennsylvania Blue, defeating Ohio 46-31 in the championship dual meet to double up on titles. Illinois placed third, defeating Wisconsin 47-36. It was Minnesota Blue that took third, besting Missouri Red who took sixth. Iowa placed seventh after defeating Georgia, 47-32. The first day of each style will feature the pool competition, where teams will compete against a number of teams in preliminary pools. Based upon the results of the day one preliminary pool competition, the top teams from each pool will advance to the Gold/Silver pool on day two, which determines the top eight teams in the tournament. There will be three other placement pools which determine the final team placements in the tournament: Bronze/Copper, Red/Blue and Green/Yellow).
An All-Tournament Team, featuring athletes who go undefeated in their individual matches in a specific style, will be announced after each tournament.
Heading into the tournament, there were 37 state association teams registered in freestyle and 33 in Greco-Roman. The teams will be separated based upon PIN ratings.
