A new USA Wrestling national event, the 2024 16U and 14U Girls National Dual Meet Championships, will be held at the Grand Park Event Center in Westfield, Indiana, June 19-22.
The tournament features teams from USA Wrestling state associations from across the nation, competing in dual meets in the two Olympic styles, freestyle and Greco-Roman. It will include the 16U age group (athletes who are 15 and 16 years old) and the 14U age group (athletes who are 13 and 14 years old.)
This will be the first time that this combined competition has been held. The Girls 16U National Duals is a brand new event, making its debut in Westfield. The Girls 14U National Duals have been held since 2018 and was hosted alongside the Junior National Duals for boys and girls in Tulsa, Okla. from 2018-2023.
As a new event, the 16U National Duals is creating history this week. The first ever 16U Girls National Duals champions will be crowned in both freestyle and Greco-Roman.
USA Wrestling hosts a national championship in freestyle for 16U Girls each year, alongside the boys in Fargo, N.D. as well as folkstyle national championships earlier in the year. A number of the athletes who were successful in Fargo last year are entered in the tournament. Other athletes in the field have been successful at the U15 and 14U age levels.
There are 23 athletes who are on the preliminary rosters in the 16U National Duals in freestyle who hold a national ranking in the most recent National Girls High School rankings.
