Pennsylvania Blue secures second-straight Greco-Roman title at 14U Women’s National Duals

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The 2024 14U Women’s Greco-Roman National Duals concluded on Saturday, as Pennsylvania Blue was crowned the champions with a 47-23 win over Washington in the finals.

Starting at 97 pounds, Isla Silva of Pennsylvania Blue edged out Dalila Tovar of Washington in a 1-1 criteria decision. This set the tone for Pennsylvania Blue throughout the dual. At 102 pounds, Hadley Heaster pinned Isabelle Goedl of Washington in 2 minutes, followed by Emma Grimes at 108 pounds who secured another pin against Sophia Garza at 2:39. These early falls gave Pennsylvania Blue a significant lead.

The next two matches went to Washington, as they fought back with Lucy Hornby at 115 pounds with an 8-5 decision and Zoey Pulver at 121 pounds, who earned a victory by fall. Kennedy Unrue of Pennsylvania Blue responded with a technical fall over Reinalda Gonzalez, winning 8-0 at 127 pounds, extending Pennsylvania Blue's lead.

The dominance of Pennsylvania Blue continued as Camilla Hathaway pinned her opponent in just 23 seconds, and Maddison Miller picked up the fall in 28 seconds. Despite a few victories from Washington, Pennsylvania Blue's consistent performance across 11 weight classes secured their overall victory.

Earlier in the day, the preliminary pools were completed in the first session. The Pool A winner was Indiana, and the runner up was Kansas, as both advanced to the Gold/Silver pool. Pool B saw Pennsylvania Blue and Missouri as its top two teams. California placed first in Pool C, and Oklahoma finished second. In Pool D, it was Washington at the top and Ohio closely behind.
