CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Action at the 2024 Kids Nationals has concluded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the second and third legs of the coveted Kids Triple Crown came to an exciting end with the completion of freestyle and Greco-Roman.
The prestigious USA Wrestling Triple Crown is awarded to wrestlers who win national titles in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman during the same year. The first leg of the Triple Crown was held at the Kids Folkstyle Nationals in Fort Wayne, Ind., on January 27-28.
Following the completion of the freestyle competition, eight athletes have clinched the Triple Crown award. The 14U and 8U freestyle tournaments were contested on Saturday, with three winners in the 14U division winning the award. The 12U and 10U age divisions were completed on Sunday afternoon.
In the 14U division, Jaxsen Bailey of South Side Wrestling Club at 102 pounds, Jeremy Carver of Contenders Wrestling Academy at 92 pounds, and Reece Movahed of American Dream Wrestling Club at 106 pounds emerged victorious in the freestyle division, becoming Triple Crown champions.
The 12U division saw strong performances from Jacob Graber of Summit Wrestling Academy at 58 pounds and Korbin Kiessling of Rampage Wrestling at 63 pounds, who claimed titles in all three wrestling styles this year.
In the 10U division, Darek Diaz of ISI Wrestling Club at 53 pounds, Oscar Ormond of North Carolina at 56 pounds, and Iaromir Zhukovskii of Built By Brunson Wrestling at 77 pounds achieved the feat of winning titles in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman in 2024,
