Six USA Wrestling Regional Championships to be held in May, qualifiers for Junior/16U Nationals and Kids Nationals

The USA Wrestling Regional Championships schedule is set for the 2024-25 season. There are six events remaining on the schedule, with tournaments held across the country in the month of May.
The Regional Championships series for 2024 began with the Northwest Junior and 16U Regionals in Centralia, Wash., held in late March.
All six of the remaining Regional events offer divisions for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U & Juniors. Both girls and boys will have the opportunity to compete in freestyle and Greco-Roman styles of competition.
Athletes are not limited to their local regional tournament and are free to participate in any of the regional tournaments as a way to qualify for the 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. See below for the full qualification procedures.
The event is also a qualifier for Kids Nationals at the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U age groups in freestyle and Greco-Roman. The 2024 USA Wrestling Kids Nationals will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the ImOn Arena, June 27-30.
The first of the six is the Western Regional Championships on May 9-11 in Herriman, Utah. This event will be held at the Zions Bank Real Academy.
On May 10-12, the Northern Plains Regional Championships will be held at the UCR Fieldhouse, Rochester Technical & Community College Regional Sports Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Held the same weekend, the Phil Portuese Northeast Regional Championships are set to take place at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Phil Portuese Northeast Regional Championships will also feature a U23 freestyle tournament held on Friday, May 10.
The following weekend on May 17-19, the Frank E. Rader Southeast Regional Championships will take place at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, Georgia. The Central Regional Championships are also slated for May 17-19 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Regional Championship series concludes with the Southern Plains Regional Championships in Mulvane, KS on May 31 - June 2. The tournament will take place at the Kansas Star Event Center.

Qualification Procedures – 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals
State teams shall be limited to four wrestlers per age per style per weight class. Wrestlers who earn automatic qualifier status shall not count against any limit.
Automatic Qualifier – 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals
The following shall serve as automatic qualifiers at Junior & 16U Nationals and shall not count against any roster limit:
Current year 1st-6th place at USA Wrestling Regionals (placement must be in the same age and style)
Current year 1st-8th place at U15 Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
Current year 1st-8th place at U17 Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
Current year 1st-8th place at U20 Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
Previous year 1st-8th place at Junior Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
Previous year 1st-8th place at 16U Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
*Geographical Exception for Qualification Procedures – Junior & 16U Nationals
For Hawaii and Alaska only, their roster limit shall not exceed 4 per weight class plus 2 additional wrestlers. The wrestlers can be at any weight class. (e.g.: 15 weight classes = 62 wrestlers)
