Olympians Snyder, Rau, Jacobson, Kikiniou among preliminary entries for Bill Farrell Memorial International

The field is beginning to take shape for the respected Bill Farrell Memorial International, which will be held at the world-famous New York Athletic Club, in Manhattan, New York City, November 8-9.

The tournament will feature a number of Olympians, Senior World Team members and age-group World medalists from the United States, as well as from other international delegations.

The event is held in honor of the late Bill Farrell, a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, an NYAC Wrestling Chairman and 1972 U.S. Olympic freestyle head coach. Farrell coached the 1972 freestyle team to one of the best performances in U.S. history, led by Olympic champions Dan Gable, Ben Peterson and Wayne Wells. Farrell was a true visionary and leader who made a major impact on wrestling at all levels.

2016 Olympic champion and three-time World champion Kyle Snyder of the USA (97 kg MFS) headlines the field of entries. Snyder was a 2020 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time Olympian and won World or Olympic medals for a U.S. record nine straight years.

2024 U.S. Greco-Roman Olympians Joe Rau (97 kg GR) and Peyton Jacobson (87 kg GR) have registered. 2024 U.S. Senior World Team member Aliaksandr Kikiniou (82 kg GR), who was an Olympian and Senior World medalist for Belarus, is also registered.

Among the international wrestlers who are Olympians are 2020 Olympic silver medalist Parviz Nasibov of Ukraine (72 kg GR). Other Olympians from other nations include Luis Perez Sosa of the Dominican Republic (97 kg MFS), Boltortuya Khurelkhuu of Mongolia (62 kg WFS) and Linda Morais of Canada (68 kg WFS).

Morais was a 2019 Senior World champion. One of her teammates in the field, Samantha Stewart (WFS 53 kg) has won a Senior World medal.

Three other past U.S. Senior World Team members are in the preliminary entries: RaVaughn Perkins (72 kg GR), Jesse Porter (77 kg GR) and Dymond Guilford (76 kg WFS). Guilford has also been an age-group World medalist.

Senior World Team members among the international entries are Oleksandr Hrushyn of Ukraine (67 kg GR), Volodymyr Yakovliev of Ukraine (82 kg GR), Jason Luneau of Canada (65 kg MFS),Adam Thomson of Canada (74 kg MFS), Jasmit Phulka of Canada (86 kg MFS), Byamdorj Bat Erdene of Mongolia (86 kg MFS), Richard Descatelets of Canada (125 kg MFS), Madison Parks of Canada (50 kg WFS), Olivia Di Bacco of Canada (68 kg WFS), Aleah Nickel of Canada (68 kg WFS) and Shauna Kuebeck of Canada (76 kg WFS).

Three age-group World champions from the United States are entered, Will Lewan (70 kg MFS), Emily Shilson (50 kg WFS) and Yelena Makoyed (76 kg WFS). Two other international entries have won age-group World titles, Vladen Kozliuk of Ukraine (97 kg GR) and Mykhailo Vyshnyvetskyi of Ukraine (130 kg GR).

Add in 10 other U.S. athletes who have won age-group World medals: Jax Forrest (57 kg MFS), Bryce Andonian (70 kg MFS), PJ Duke (70 kg MFS), Jay Aiello (97 kg MFS), Justin Rademacher (97 kg MFS), Jordan Wood (125 kg MFS), Erin Golston (50 kg WFS), Sklyer Hattendorf (62 kg WFS), Alara Boyd (65 kg WFS) and Alexandria Glaude (72 kg WFS).

There are seven other international entries with age-group World medals: Yerbol Kamaliyev of Kazakhstan (60 kg GR), Ihor Bychkov of Ukraine (77 kg GR), Irfan Mirzoiev of Ukraine (77 kg GR), Yebgeniy Polivadov of Kazakhstan (87 kg GR), Vincent De Marinis of Canada (65 kg MFS), Serena Di Benedetto of Canada (53 kg WFS) and Vivianne Rouleau of Canada (76 kg WFS).

The field is strengthened by 17 other U.S. athletes who have been on an age-group World Team: Hunter Lewis (67 kg GR), Tyler Eischens (77 kg GR), Arvin Khosravy (77 kg GR), Aydin Rix McElhinney (77 kg GR), Tommy Brackett (82 kg GR), Michael Altomer (87 kg GR), Tyler Cunningham (87 kg GR), Joey Lavallee (79 kg MFS), Clay Lautt (86 kg MFS), Jack Darrah (92 kg MFS), Jaslynn Gallegos (50 kg WFS), Vayle Baker (53 kg WFS), Amanda Martinez (57 kg WFS), Xochitl Mota-Pettis (57 kg WFS), Savannah Cosme (62 kg WFS), Katerina Lange (62 kg WFS) and Brooklyn Hays (68 kg WFS). There are also 20 other international entries who have competed in an age-group World Championships.

The Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling competition will be on Friday, November 8. The men’s freestyle action is set for Saturday, November 9.

The competition will be broadcast live on FloWrestling.
