Manheim, PA -In the latest Division III Men's Coaches Poll from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), Wartburg has taken over the top spot with 58 points, while preseason No. 1 Augsburg has dropped to sixth.
UW La Crosse and UW Eau Claire each moved up one place, now sitting at second (51 points) and third (40 points). Johnson & Wales made the large leap from 11th to fourth, just half a point out of third. Rounding out the top five is the Coast Guard Academy, which moved up three spots.
The individual rankings also see four new wrestlers taking over the #1 ranking in their weight classes. Wartburg has two wrestlers ranked No. 1: Charles Dojan at 149 pounds and Massoma Endene at 197 pounds.
Endene recently represented Division III in the NWCA All-Star Classic, where he matched up with Division II defending national champion Derek Blubaugh from UIndy. The event took place at Penn State's historic Rec Hall, and Endene impressed with a 12-1 major decision.
