Women’s College Opens this past weekend: 8-Woman Battles, Baldwin Wallace, Spokane and Missouri Valley Opens held

Each week as appropriate, USA Wrestling will post the results from women’s college open tournaments from the weekend. There were five more tournaments held across the nation during the third weekend of the season.

This past weekend’s tournament results include the 8-Woman Battles in Wisconsin, the Baldwin Wallace Open in Ohio, the Spokane Open in Washington and the Missouri Valley Open in Missouri. We currently don’t have results from the St. Andrews Open in North Carolina, but will add them to the story if they become available.

Notes: NCAA Simpson College had a very strong performance with six individual champions: Emma Wissman (103), Jalynn Goodale (117), Ashley Cannon (124), Hannah Hernandez (131B), Paige Gershmel (138) and Keeley Kehrli (160). NCAA No. 18 Wisconsin-Stevens Point had a pair of champions, Alexis Winecke (110) and Tabitha Breitrick (180). Also with two champions was NCAA Augustana of Illinois, Moni Griffin (131A) and Aine Moffit (145). The other individual champion was Alivia Davey of NCAA Wisconsin – Oshkosh (207).

Notes: NCAA Baldwin Wallace won the team title at their own Open, with 111.5 points, ahead of NCAA Alma with NCAA Alma in second with 97 points and NCAA No. 19 Gannon in third with 92 points. Gannon was the only team with two champions, Katerina Pendergrass (110) and Isabella Phillips (180). Baldwin Wallace had one champion, Leyna Rumpler (160), while Alma had a champion in MaKayla Gowell (138). Other individual college champions were Jamie Shapton of NCAA West Liberty (207) and Morgan Repasky of NAIA Montreat (103). One of the unattached champions is on the West Liberty roster, Trinity Howard (124).
