Strong U.S. men’s and women’s freestyle team to compete at Muhamet Malo Ranking Event in Albania

The United States will send a large and talented team to compete in men’s and women’s freestyle at the Muhamet Malo International, a United World Wrestling Ranking Series Event, in Tirana, Albania, February 26 – March 2.
Ranking Series events are part of the process which determine seeds at the Olympic Games and World Championships, as well as year-end awards given by United World Wrestling.
The U.S. men’s freestyle roster is headlined by 2016 Olympic champion and three-time World champion Kyle Snyder at 97 kg. Chance Marsteller, a member of the 2023 Senior World Team, will compete at 86 kg. Past Senior National Team member Michael Macchiavello will enter at 92 kg. Also competing will be two-time World medalist James Green at 70 kg.
The 12-athlete men’s freestyle team includes a number of young stars who are expected to be in contention for future Senior World Teams as well as the 2028 U.S. Olympic Team which will compete in Los Angeles.
The U.S. women’s freestyle roster includes 2019 World champion and 2020 Olympian Jacarra Winchester at 55 kg. 2023 World bronze medalist Jennifer Page will compete at 65 kg. Teammates on the 2022 Senior World Team Abigail Nette at 59 kg and Dymond Guilford at 76 kg, are also scheduled to compete in Albania.
Four other current Women’s National Team members will also compete in the Ranking event, Erin Golston at 50 kg, Felicity Taylor at 53 kg, Adaugo Nwachukwu at 62 kg and Alex Glaude at 72 kg, Another past National Team member, Amanda Martinez at 57 kg, is also on the tour.
Competition in men’s freestyle will be held on Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27. Women’s freestyle competition is set for Thursday, February 27, Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1. Greco-Roman wrestling is scheduled for Friday, February 28, Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2. The U.S. will have no Greco-Roman competitors in the tournament
The event will be broadcast live on FloWrestling.
