What to watch: Week ten of the college wrestling season

Week ten of the college wrestling season features the highly anticipated Southern Scuffle on Saturday and Sunday. Alongside the tournament, several teams continue dual action to kick off the new year. Check out a few events to watch during week ten as the college wrestling season continues.
Southern Scuffle
Date: January 4-5, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. ET
Location: McKenzie Arena, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Where to Watch: FloWrestling
The annual New Years Day event moves to this weekend and will be held on January 4-5. The following individuals and teams are in the mix to compete: American, Appalachian State, Army, Bellarmine, Bloomsburg, Brown, Campbell, Chattanooga, The Citadel, Clarion , Davidson, Duke, Gardner-Webb, Little Rock, Long Island, North Carolina, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma, Penn State, Virginia and Virginia Tech. No. 12 Cornell at No. 19 Missouri
Date: January 3, 2025
Time: 6 p.m. CT
Location: Hearnes Center, Columbia, Mo.
Where to Watch: ESPN+
The Big Red travel to Columbia, Missouri, to take on the No. 19 Tigers. The dual is apart of Missouri’s "Beauty and the Beast" event, a collaboration between their wrestling and gymnastics teams, broadcast on ESPN+. The Tigers, holding a 2-5 record after facing five ranked teams, will face off against Cornell, who has a 1-1 record with a win against Buffalo and a loss to No. 8 NC State. Action begins at 6 p.m. CT on Friday night.
Fred Johnson Duals
Date: January 4, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. CT
Location: Roy J. Carver Center, Rock Island, Ill.
Where to Watch: YouTube
Augustana (Ill.) is set to host an exciting event featuring Cornell, Eureka, Jamestown, and Quincy in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday. The action kicks off at 9 a.m. and can be followed through Augustana’s YouTube page. Augustana currently holds a 1-2 record, Cornell is at 1-8, and Quincy baosts a 5-3 record. Jamestown will begin dual action on January 2 against Sioux Falls prior to the duals in Rock Island.
Oregon State at No. 5 Ohio State
Date: January 5, 2025
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Location: Covelli Center, Columbus, Ohio
Where to Watch: BIG+
No. 5 Ohio State, holding a 7-0 record overall this season, hosts Oregon State on Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes have wins over two ranked teams this season, and recently secured third place as a team at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Ohio State also had a successful run at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals in December, defeating Iowa State, North Carolina, and Lock Haven. Oregon State is 1-3 at this point in the season, with a lone win against North Dakota State and losses to Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Utah Valley. The dual begins at 1 p.m. ET inside the Covelli Center in Columbus.
Armbar at the Armory
Date: January 5, 2025
Time: 11:30 a.m. ET
Location: Clifton Park, NY Impact Athletic Center
Where to Watch: FloWrestling
This Sunday, four teams are set for action at the Armbar at the Armory in Clifton Park, New York. The event features Maryland, Binghamton, Lock Haven, and Columbia. Maryland, currently standing at 4-3, faces off against Binghamton (1-4) at 11:30 a.m. alongside a dual between Lock Haven (2-4) and Columbia (2-2). The action continues with Maryland taking on Columbia and Lock Haven battling Binghamton at 1:30 p.m. The day concludes with Columbia matching up against Binghamton and Lock Haven taking on Maryland at 3:30 p.m. All of the action will be streamed live on FloWrestling.
