NICE, France – The three U.S. Senior women competing at the 51st annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France next week in Nice, France, have received their draw.

Past U17 World medalists Tiara Ikei (53 kg) and Skylar Hattendorf (62 kg) are competing on Friday, as well as returning Henri Deglane champion Kaylynn Albrecht (72 kg).

Ikei awaits the winner of a preliminary match between Maelyss Rousselet of France and Anastasiia Lebedieva of Poland. Rousselet’s best Senior finish was fifth in the 2024 Klippan Lady Open in Sweden. Lebedieva, who competed for Ukraine in the age-group level, does not have any significant Senior achievements.

Ikei is in the bottom half of the bracket, with talented veterans Oleksandra Kogut of Austria (formerly of Ukraine) and Katarzyna Krawczyk of Poland among her potential opponents.

Ikei recently made a comeback from injury after missing significant time from competition. Ikei is a past U.S. Senior Open champion. She was a 2018 U17 World bronze medalist.

Hattendorf opens against a 2024 Olympian, Ameline Douarre of France, who was second in the 2024 World Military Championships.

Hattendorf’s half bracket includes opponents from Germany, Poland and Estonia.

Among Hattendorf’s recent achievements are silver medals at the Bill Farrell Memorial International and the U20 Pan American Championships. Hattendorf won a silver medal at the 2019 U17 World Championships.

Albrecht is in a three-athlete round-robin, and will face 2023 U23 World bronze medalist Tindra Sjoeberg of Sweden, as well as 2021 U20 World silver medalist Lilly Schneider of Germany.

Albrecht, a 2023 NAIA champion for Baker, was a 2023 U23 Nationals champion and won the 2023 Bill Farrell Memorial International.

The action from France continues with the men’s freestyle tournament follows on January 18. A Greco-Roman division will be contested on January 19, but the U.S. does not have an athlete entered. Each day of the event has a scheduled start time of 10:30 a.m. local time/4:30 a.m. (ET) and will run straight through to completion.
