NICE, France – 10 Americans have received draws for Saturday’s men’s freestyle competition at the 51st annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France being held at Halle des sports Charles Ehrmann in Nice, France.
2024 Olympic silver medalist Spencer Lee anchors the U.S. lineup in this his first competitive appearance since the Paris Games. Lee is scheduled for three matches in pool play at 57 kg to start the event. The top challenger to Lee in his pool is 2022 U17 World bronze medalist Ben Tarik of Morocco, who Lee will wrestle right out of the shoot. Lee is the heavy gold medal favorite in his bracket.
2023 U.S. World Team member and reigning Pan American champion Chance Marsteller will take on Ayman Nissr of Germany to open his day at 86 kg. A win pushes Marsteller to the quarterfinals against Miko Elkala of Finland. Marsteller is the considerable favorite against either man.
