PRINCETON, N.J.—Cornell earned the team title at the Inaugural Ivy League tournament with 135.5 team points, qualifying all ten wrestlers for the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Five wrestlers won individual titles for the Big Red on Sunday night.

Cornell took the first ever Ivy League Tournament team title followed by Penn (129.5 points), Columbia (144.5 points), Princeton (113 points), Brown (84.5 points) and Harvard (62 points).

In the semifinals, Cornell’s Julian Ramirez pinned Andy Troczynski of Penn in 35 seconds, the 26th fastest pin in Cornell history. At 197 pounds, Mikey Dellagatta followed a pin over Joe Curtis of Columbia in 51 seconds.

At 157 pounds, Meyer Shapiro defeated Penn’s Jude Swisher 19-2 by technical fall. Shapiro is the No. 3 ranked wrestler in his weight class. Julian Ramirez followed up with a win over Columbia’s Cesar Alvan 8-6 at 165 pounds.

Simon Ruiz won the title at 174 pounds, defeating Columbia’s Jack Mcgill by 8-0 major decision. At 184 pounds, Chris Foca took down Penn’s Max Hale in sudden victory, 8-5.

The final champion of the night was Cornell’s Ashton Davis at 285 pounds. Davis earned a spot at the NCAA tournament with a 5-1 victory over Columbia’s Vincent Mueller. There is just one pre-allocation at this weight for the Ivy League, which went to Davis.

The Big Red qualified all 10 wrestlers for the second consecutive year, and just the second time in program history. There are a total of 26 allocations for the Ivy League for the NCAA National Championships, taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, March 20-22 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Penn finished the tournament with 129.5 points, with three individual champions in Ryan Miller (133), CJ Composto (141), and Cross Wasilewski (149). In addition to the three individual champions, the Quakers will send six to the NCAA Championships after Max Gallagher (125), Jude Swisher (157), and Maximus Hale (184) finished second on Sunday.

Columbia placed third in the team race, scoring 114.5 points. Lorenzo Frezza (141), Richard Fedalen (157), Cesar Alvan (165), Jack McGill (174) and Nick Fine (184) qualified for the NCAA Championships, as all 10 wrestlers finished on the podium for the Lions.
