USA WRESTLING JOB OPPORTUNITY: Communications Coordinator
USA Wrestling is seeking a Communications Coordinator. This is a full-time position which reports to the Director of Communications and Special Projects. This individual will be responsible for working on a variety of projects which impact the organization's communications activities.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Creates content for USA Wrestling’s communications platforms, including its website, TheMat.com, and any printed publications as developed by the organization.
- Assist with content creation for USA Wrestling's social media networks (such as Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) as well as other communication platforms. Graphic arts and design abilities are required.
- Assists with media relations, public relations and event media operations for all levels of USA Wrestling events and activities.
- Assists with video content creation for USA Wrestling's internet presence. Tasks include video editing and uploading video footage, as well as helping develop strategies for expansion of video properties.
- Oversees USA Wrestling’s podcast properties, which includes review and editing (as needed) of podcasts, posting to designated platforms, and promotion of the podcast series.
- Oversees USA Wrestling's message boards, including developing effective system of moderation.
- Handles other duties as determined by the Director of Communications or the Executive Director.
This individual will coordinate closely with staff in a number of USA Wrestling Departments. The position also includes work with volunteers within the organization.
Must have a degree in a communications-related field, as well as professional work experience in a communications-related job. Knowledge of wrestling is a plus. Experience in journalism, public relations, college or Olympic sports communications or related industries is desirable.
Proven writing and communication skills are necessary for this position. Graphic arts ability and video editing experience are also expected. Time management skills are a must. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, able to meet specific deadlines, work on a variety of projects simultaneously, and work both independently and on various working groups. There will be extensive travel required for the person in this position.
Hiring Pay Range
$$40,000 - $45,000 per year depending on experience.
