Northern Michigan University Greco-Roman Wrestling Head Coach Andy Bisek has named Parker Betts to be the Greco-Roman National Training Site's new assistant coach.

"I am very excited to have Parker join the coaching staff," Bisek said. "Parker was a very driven leader on the team as an athlete. Recently he has spent time working with youth and high school wrestlers and is prepared to help those age groups transition into college".

Betts most recently served as the assistant coach for Gulf Breeze High School where he helped guide the team to a second-place finish out of 30 schools at the 1-2A District Championships.

Prior to Gulf Breeze, Betts served as Head Coach at Centennial High School and assistant coach at St. Michael High. He also served as a volunteer assistant for the NMU Greco-Roman program during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Betts, who wrestled at 120 KG, spent four years as a member of the NMU Greco-Roman team where he was a three-time U.S. Open All-American, earned eight international medals and was the University National Champion in 2015. He also placed second at the Senior National Championships in 2016.

Betts graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2017 with a degree in Physical Education and Coaching.
