Women’s College Open Tournaments from this past weekend: Women’s West Coast TOC, and Wasps Open

Each week as appropriate, USA Wrestling will post the results from women’s college open tournaments from the weekend. Here is this week’s report, with two tournaments, one on the West Coast and another on the East Coast.

Women's West Coast Tournament of Champions (at Roseville, Calif.)

Notes: NAIA No. 8 Menlo College dominated the team race, placing first with 205.5 points, with six individual champions. NJCAA No. 2 Umpqua CC was second with 128 points, followed by NAIA Vanguard in third with 69.5 points. Menlo champions were Kayla McKinley-Johnson (101) , Barbara Greenberg (109) , Ajayzee Zaballos (116) , Alana Vivas (123) , Louisa Schwab (136) and Shannon Workinger (155). Umpqua had a single champion in Victoria Baez-Dillone (130) . Other champions were Lily El-Masri of NAIA Vanguard (170), Alex Garcia of NJCAA No. 4 Southwestern Oregon (191), Vivianna Garcia-Reveles of NAIA Simpson College, plus club athlete Danielle Rond of the Swamp Monsters (143).

Notes: NCAA No. 1 King was dominant with five individual champions, and one weight class having a double default in the finals between a pair of King wrestlers. King champions were Avery Kibelbek (101), Vayle Baker (123), Montana Delawder (130), Ana Luciano (143) and Cheyenne Bowman (170). The finalists at 116 from King were Samara Chavez and Danielle Garcis, who chose not to wrestle each other. NAIA No. 3 Life had a pair of champions, Latifah McBryde (155) and Gabrielle Hamilton (191). The other champion was from NCAA No. 7 Presbyterian, Paige Wehrmeister (136).
