Parrish and Mensah Stock No. 1 in United World Wrestling Year-End Women’s Freestyle Rankings with 25 U.S. women ranked

United World Wrestling announced its Year-End Women’s Freestyle Rankings today. Wrestlers who competed at the World Championships, continental championships, Ranking Series events and select regional games have got the benefit of being active throughout the year.

The top three wrestlers in each weight class will receive prize money. The No. 1 ranked wrestlers receive $5,000, with the No. 2 wrestlers getting $3,000 and the No. 3 wrestlers earning $2,000.

There were seven U.S. women in the top three of the rankings, with World champions Dominique Parrish (53 kg) and Tamyra Mensah Stock at No.1, plus World champion Amit Elor (72 kg) and World silver medalist Kayla Miracle (62 kg) and World bronze medalist Sarah Hildebrandt (USA) at No. 2. Earning No. 3 rankings were World bronze medalist Mallory Velte (62 kg) and World Team member Jacarra Winchester (55 kg).

Combined the U.S. women earned $23,000 based upon their top-three placements in the UWW Year-End Rankings.

In total, there were 25 U.S. women who received rankings by United World Wrestling, including nine in the Top 10. The others in the top 10 are No. 4 Helen Maroulis at 57 kg and No. 10 Forrest Molinari at 65 kg.

USA Wrestling will also report on the Year-End rankings in men’s freestyle when they are released. Released on Tuesday were the Greco-Roman rankings.
