11:37 a.m. Paris time – Can’t believe what we just saw. At 50 kg in women’s freestyle Vinesh of India scored in the final seconds to beat forever unbeaten No. 1 seed Yui Susaki of Japan, 2-2. The Japan corner challenged the winning move, but the jury denied the challenge. Vinesh beat Susaki, 3-2. If you go to Susaki’s UWW database report, she has never lost in 22 previous UWW international events. This is huge – the kind of upsets you see at the Olympic Games. It also opens up an opportunity for somebody else to get gold – maybe Sarah Hildebrandt of the USA???
